Honestly, if I changed anything I'd become an O/O leased on to a company. I don't know if it would even be worth it. Most of these companies pay around $1.50 a mile. I never crunched any numbers of fixed costs like insurance, IFTA, and the rest of that. If it came out to more or less what I make now as a company driver than what's the point?
IDK, maybe more freedom, your own route/schedule and make the same money with less work?
I was reading "Dave in AZ"'s thread at landstar and it seems like he's doing very well. I'm considering starting at Landstar or Mercer myself (whenever the time comes).
just dont haul hazmat for $1 a mile like midnightrider909 does
